On a family vacation, we stopped at Bonorong. We almost skipped it because we were going to two others on our trip. We're glad we didn't. What an amazing experience. We loved it! The only down side was that it ruined the other wildlife parks for us. The layout is great and the pictures don't do it justice. You walk... More

This was a well-maintained sanctuary that seems to really care for their creatures. It was a wonderful place to see a little of everything from Australia. Go for the tour to pet a wombat and koala, visit the devils, and learn a lot from knowledgeable caretakers.

This place is truly awesome! A naturalist (or guide, whatever he was called) taught us about the Tasmanian Devil. We also saw a wombat - never saw one before. And, of course, feeding the kangaroos was such fun!!

Bonorong is everything a zoo should be - but isnt. Not only is the range of animals amazing (tassie devils, BIG roos you can feed - not the puny little wallaby type, tiger snakes and much more) but unlike a Zoo that is in it just for the cash, this place is all about the animals. (Hence the name) So... More

Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary staff are doing a great job to educate visitors on the importance of preserving and protecting Australian native wildlife. The guide was very knowledgable and visitors were able to get up close to a number of animals. Although small, it is certainly a wonderful sanctuary with a variety of animals to see.

Fed the kangaroos, soft tongues and was fascinating to see how long their nails were. They must have been hungry, because they took their paws and pushed my hand down to where they wanted it for feeding. The staff here are very knowledgeable and more than willing to answer questions. Seeing the Tasmanian Devils was an eye opener. Their fighting... More

Reasonably priced. Free tour not to be missed - educational and interesting. Contrary to another post, the (imported from the mainland) kangaroos are not disinterested in humans bearing food, in fact too much the opposite when we were there! Great that they are breading disease free devils.

This sanctuary does excellent work and is a lovely place to visit to see koalas, wombats, kangaroos, Tasmanian devils and sundry other animals. You can feel good about the visit because you are helping them with their excellent work providing an animal rescue service throughout Tasmania.

Loved every part of this experience from petting the wombats and koalas to feeding the kangaroos. Especially appreciated the young people being trained.
