Smaller than most cities Botanic Gardens but an absolutely beautiful range of European horticulture. Also great to see the the vegetable garden that is on the ABC programme Gardening Australia. Also has a Japanese section and some early architecture. Well worth spending a few hours.

Beautifully sited, the cafe promised a much needed break after a stroll around Hobart's gorgeous Botanical Gardens. I have often visited the Botanical Gardens and always see something new. The whole garden has a lovely olde worlde feel with beautiful mature trees and lawns. Great giftshop.

For Melbournians, as compared to the Melbourne Botanical gardens this is maybe 50 %.
Sydney siders, if you have been to the Chinese garden of friendship at darling harbour, this is the same beauty spread out over 5 times the land area.
Folks from Brisbane, don't bother with this, you are better off visiting Mt Cootha Botanical gardens the tenth...

Found this was a great place to visit for a relaxing afternoon. Gold coin donation entry. Conservatory is a must with a great display of orchids. The gift shop is well appointed and the café offers a good choice of food and beverages.
