This is a great new venue, it s also known as the Dame Elizabeth Murdoch recital centre, ( whom I had the pleasure to meet once) the acoustics are state of the art and the woodwork is amazing considering we are not in a third world country where buildings such as these cost so much less to build

I always love attending the Melbourne Recital centre. Perfect for international or interstate friends to show them a good time. I suggest booking a small or chamber ensemble as it is designed to bring out these sounds perfectly. Baroque music is stunning in this venue.

Went to see Glen Hansard in concert, terrific. Very impressed with the architecture of the building, the interior use of wood is beautiful, and the acoustics are excellent. The windows include louvres, and even the odd-shaped windows were open to let in the fresh air to the foyer area. Wonderful new venue, a great addition to Melbourne's arts precinct. I'd... More

the state of art architecture alone of this building is remarkable, a positive addition to the arts quarter of melbourne, the interior commanding as well as the exterior. if you are unable to spare time for a show, at least go have a look.

The recital centre accoustics are great - certainly best in Australia. Hoever, the seats are not overly comfortable, and difficult to access because of space between seats.

A simply beautiful building, with brilliant acoustics. A very intimate feel to the spaces. In part loved because the performance we saw was wonderful.
