I'm not a fan of zoos and would not have thought to do it myself but my young travelling companions were keen to go and I'm so glad I went. Such a variety of animals, such a range of different environments, such a good friendly vibe among the many zoo staff and volunteers. I really valued the strong environmental focus... More

We went there on a buy 1 get 1 free offer, but nonetheless the zoo is a great place to spend a family outing. There are many animals on exhibit and most of them are placed in such a way that it looks like they're in their natural habitat. I would need to definitely visit it again as this is... More

This is a great zoo. The orangutan's are amazing to watch and probably the most happy I have seen in any zoo. Also if you like big cats the Lion and Tiger enclosures are great.

Very easy to get around and excellent layout. A lot of great things for younger children too - like the 'zoo kids' area and meerkat playground. I think the food is made on the premises and was relatively inexpensive and excellent quality. One of the family's favourite experiences in Melbourne

It had been many years since I had visited the melbourne zoo, it has improved a lot with many new enclosures and spacious for the animals to reside in. There are still a few enclosures that require work but all an all a good day. So for the food do your self a favor and bring your own food. The... More

It was a great day, so much to see, my friend and I spent approx. 5 hours there, and it was all so good! Highlights were the Butterfly Enclosure, the Orangutans and the Silverbacks. Great day all round!

I love the zoo. There is always something to see, and the enclosures are being updated so they are much more like the natural habitats. Good for visitors, locals, kids and adults.

We have visited zoos around the world and enjoyed this as among the best. The aviary is large and the birds are unexpected. Kaolas easily visited since the walkway is elevated into the canopy. Access to Kangaroos excellent so that we could pat them and they nuzzled up to visitors like cats at home. Orangutans active and playful with excellent... More
