Running approx every 12 minutes, the tram does a loop covering most of the attractions of Melbourne for you to hop on and hop off, and also has a commentary. Would advise avoiding peak times though as it gets extremely busy.

I loved the convenience of taking the tram around, it's frequency of travel (10 minutes apart), and it's free! Although Melbourne CBD can be seen by foot, it's still a welcome reprieve to take a tram ride especially on a cool wet autumn day.

I love that the tram is FREE and has many stops around the CBD. Look for the big city circle tram signs.

In some global cities, you'd hop immediately on a double decker tour bus to get your bearings. In Melbourne, just find a stop for the City Circle Tram. They are fun and interesting plus a great way to get around if you're not in too much of a hurry.
