Werribee Zoo is operated by passionate, dedicated people from ground up to CEO, who obviously love their jobs and animal 'house-mates'. That makes it a great experience for we humans. And I love o seeing the meercats through glass in the restaurant.

This is a great day out for people of all ages. I recommend also taking the time to visit the Werribee mansion, on the same grounds as the zoo.
Nice to see the animals in the open dont get there on opening time as some off the animals are not out yet and we went round twice which was ok.the bus ride was great dont miss that. Not to dear a day if you take your own food was very happy with the day
This is such a great place to take kids, why go to Africa if you have werribie zoo, free roaming zebras elephants and don't forget those cute as meerkats
We went as a large family group, and whilst the open range is fantastic for the animals, it was a little disappointing not being able to see all the animals as they're off doing there thing. the bus ride is definitely worth it otherwise you'd miss most of it.

We enjoyed our visit, the open bus tour was good, giving a closer look at the animals. The facilities, paths and layout are great for families. Good value day trip.
Our first visit and I think we were expecting more. The lions are behind glass or mesh so photo's are difficult. The cheetahs were a little better and at least with the gorilla's you could see over the fence to get a clear shot (but with a zoom). We paid extra for the open vehicle tour. The guide (Mel) was...

All behavours shown were designed to mimic what they would be doing out in the wild.I would strongly recommend putting this encounter onto your bucket list and...

The food was poor quality but it was Good Friday so they were struggling. We were just happy they were open. This zoo participates with the zoo membership reciprocal membership.
