My friend and I did this walk and took about 4 hours, with a stop for lunch. Good overview of the city with a couple of climbs to top of old volcanos. Otherwise the walk was pretty easy through mostly parks. Recommended if you like walking.

this was a very good way to explore auckland.the views are breathtaking. you would enjoy it the most if u guys walked,stop occasionally to click some amazing pictures. do visit if u have time.

The 16km walk between the Tasman sea and the Pacific gives you a good feel of the city. Get the train from Britomart to Onehunga and then walk back following the signs. If you love walking through a city this walk is for you! There are some nice spots along the way but the one thing I'd really recommend is getting a good street map before you go cos the directional arrows are very misleading and I'm sure this walk took me twice as long as I kept getting lost.
