Mount Eden is quite spectacular with awesome views in all directions. We were lucky in that we had a sunny day with about 80 degrees, so weather for shorts and TShirt. We saw some of the many volcanos that are all around - VERY impressive!
To do on a sunny day, no exception ! You can take the bus or walk, either way, you get stunning views at the top and realise how big Auckland is !
We visited Mount Eden as part of a city bus tour and spent a relaxing 30-40 minutes enjoying the 360 degree views of the city. Our shuttle bus driver to the top was Maori and provided great historical overviews that really added to our enjoyment.
This volcano offers you great views over Auckland and is easily accessible from the road to walk up and there is a road going all the way to the top plus it is free. Great views all the way round. Easy to drive to the top & a good amount of car parks. Kids thought it was pretty cool to see a volcano crater.
The old maori fortifications are fairly obvious here and therde's a great view of the city. great to see the volcano as well. Very popular spot.
I recommend to visit here after dark. So beautiful. I think the gates are open until 11pm, but not sure all the year..
I beleive this is the highest point in Auckland, other than the Skytower, but One Tree Hill is a more beautiful place.
Went to Mount Eden twice. Once on foot and once by car. The views are great early in the morning when you have the place to yourself and you can see Auckland waking up. I didn't need to see the view from they Sky tower after seeing it here.
Enjoy a 360 degree view of the city on top of this extinct volcano. My favorite view is looking over the old caldera toward the city skyline.
