With so many very costly activities to do in Rotorua. I highly recommend the Redwoods as a free alternative

What a great resource!. So well used. The Redwoods are fantastic for biking of course, but also walking - at all levels.

You can spend as little or as long as you want here. great for walks - or a run. marvel at the height and girth of some of the giant Redwoods. There's a cafe and shop too and loads of free parking.

The sun streaming through the tall redwoods is good for the soul. The paths are well maintained and extensive.

Did the 7.5km walk and it was lovely. The redwoods are majestic and serene and made me so relaxed and happy. The walk was quite strenuous but very enjoyable. A well sign posted walk. Only downside I popped into the visitor centre to ask for a map and they were $5. A free basic map would be nice.

We spent a couple of hours wondering around the amazing trees. Loved being able to take our dog who loved it (and the dog water bowls)

Great choice of walking trails of various lengths and difficulties. The redwoods are absolutely breathtaking but there is also lots of native bush and several exotic specimens too. We took the Quarry lookout track (4.8km) and it was a really lovely walk.

What a great place to take visitors to Rotorua. The Redwoods forest has a calm and stress relieving quality about it that seems almost magical to many of my tour guests. There are various walks amongst the trees and trails for the more adventurous. BMX tracks too. Bathroom facilities by the Forest office that has a shop with helpful staff.... More

I am a local and have seriously taken this gem for granted. It is beautiful, the different tracks means that you can go back there everyday and see something new. Love it!
