All waterfalls are beautiful, regardless of their size/height/volume and the Huka Falls are no exception. Certainly worth the visit...clean water, lush bush surroundings, walkways to access..a must see.

The falls look bigger in the pictures.. but its a lovely walk and the blue water and thundering falls quite take your breath away. I just thought it would be much bigger having seen the Niagara falls recently. Still lovely, and I'd recommend doing the river walk from Huka falls to the natural thermal pools for a dip and onwards... More

We were told that the falls are really worth seeing. We were suprised when we got there and expected to see some outstanding falls. Instead, it is a large canal with very swift flowing water that drops down a series of rock ledges and eventually fall a few metres to create a spray.

One of the sights you must see, when visiting Taupo. The amount of water that thunders down, per second, is incredible. Simply Stunning!!!

So well worth popping in to see. Good looking walks leading from the falls, Though we didn't allow enough time to go very far - probably a mistake on our part

Well worth a look, as previous reviewers have noted. There is ample parking and then you cross over the water to the viewing points. Very good and free. However we had some trouble finding the place as the fee-charging jet boat centre and (I jest not) prawn fishing centre seem to be where the roads and signposts lead more readily.... More

Not far from the main highway with plenty of parking and just a short walk and you are there and you can feel the immense power of the water racing through the quite small opening. You can get some great photo's of the falls and it is just a super place to see. Don't forget your camera and of course... More

There's a bridge over the rapids and walkways alongside, so you have a superb view over the spectacularly fast-flowing waters. We saw a couple of kayaks braving the falls and the tourist boat (not sure where it comes from) taking people very close to the white water. It's an exciting sight. My five stars are for the natural entertainment -... More

Hula Falls are beautiful and interesting stop on trip from Taupo to Rotorua or back. You park in the car park and the bridge over the rapids is a very short walk. Quite spectacular set of rapids. A fantastic experience to go on the jet boats if you have time.
