You are taken through Parliament in a tour and the tour guide is excellent. A lot of information on the history of the place and what significant events have taken place in different parts of Parliament. Costs nothing and its a good hour well used.

Looking at the terrible reviews for the Parliament building, they undermine what they are actually reviewing, which is the tour. For a Parliamentary building its great, and its a bit obnoxious to call it 'bland,' personally, to make it look more 'inspiring' you would have to use public taxing money. Ignore the bad reviews, on the place because its absolutely... More

Beautiful building with a good tour that includes the Maori MP meeting room, and the earthquake retrofitting. The tour was free, and a good length. I wish they'd let you take photos (and not sure why they don't) and the tour could have included a little more depth of information, for example, some explanations for why things are the way... More

A great way to learn some NZ political history new and old. A fantastic tour that was FREE! Court houses are across the road plus you can sit on the lawns or chairs with a coffee or even a sandwich. Lovely atmosphere.

Surprisingly interesting and not too much explanations. The parliamentory part is probably more interesting for NZ visitors but I was enthralled by the explanations of the earthquake resistant provisions that were realised.

Easy tour to take and not overly long. I would incorporate if I had 2 hrs to use as it does give you the feel of history albeit new in comparison to many other countries.

I went on a free tour of the parliament buildings which included the old parliament building, the executive building (the beehive) and the old parliamentary library. Well worth the visit. Tours leave on the hour from 10am.

This was unique. We enjoyed a free guided history tour around parliament buildings & saw a NZ invention, the earthquake prevention bearings that sit under the buildings .Tour guide was excellent ; she was very articulate. The cream on the cake was watching the live debate around 2pm ,where you can see PM John key & all the major political... More
