I love the walk down to the bay. I love the feel of this little bay. I love the way we can swim out to the raft. Its sheltered from prevailing winds. It has picnic spots, on grass, yet near the water.
Coasair Bay is nestled in a quiet setting in Lyttelton Harbour, a 5 minute drive from the port township of Lyttelton itself. It is great for picnicing and swimming. Swimming is safe and enjoyable. There are easy and pleasurable walks which take you from bay to bay which also are enjoyable for exercise, views and good company.
Good for family outing, sun bathing, swimming in sheltered bay
Sheltered safe swimming, shell beach. Steep path down
Gorgeous views! Lots of nice walkways around Bays and quiet swim spots.
Haven't been for a couple of years but it is a great swimming beach on a summers day. Can get crowded on the summer weekends.
