for many years Kirra floundered as an also ran when the sandpumping jetty destroyed the surf break. After many protests and finally change to sandpumping, Kirra is again what she should have always been. A beautiful beach to be enjoyed by all.

Worried about Gold Coast beaches being washed away, this is not the case at Kirra. The surf is nice and safe for kids, not so good if you want to ride some waves though. The beach is as spectacular as ever.
veery nice beach, great sunset definitely the better end of the goldcoast.Byron bay is just around the corner.
Lovely beach with great cafes ! Highly recommend Meridien Towers for value stay and great service and views !
Some festival was ongoing while we hit there after our sky dive. Really amazing to see the pros hitting waves and surfing. Personally love the sand and beach here compared to Surfer's Paradise as I found the sand here more fine and less stony.
However, it has less shops compared to Surfer's Paradise. Personally preferred more of a tourist crowd...

Here for Aussie Titles and the beach is providing all that the competition could ask for! Excellent paved bike trail that runs for Kiometres from pt danger to Tugun, so easy to get from one place to another. Wide sandy beach, lovely swimming down south end between the flags.
Kirra is also a beautiful beach, it has miles of sand to cross to reach the water, a great beach for flying kites due to the amount of sand space.
The Beach here is different from Sufers Paradise, the sand here are much finer more quiet and less busy the view were splendid too.
We have timeshare at Kirra so have visited the area about 25 times - and, regardless of the weather, we are never disappointed. This is a glorious stretch of silky white sand that, when the tide is out, seems to stretch forever. It's completely different to Surfers Paradise. And the best thing is - there's hardly ever many people on...

Simply let go and abandon yourself on this massive expanse of beach and ocean; wild, free and chilled and pretty much deserted much of the time. Love this place to surf and swim in and great to run to from Coolangatta.
