This is a small provincial museum but it really tells great stories of the art, culture and environment of Manawatu. The staff are friendly and knowledgable and it's really child friendly.

Te Manawa is a place were most people will learn something new with each visit. It is great place for children and caters fora wide range of interests. has strong local flavor. The stain glass mural worth a look, and ask the staff about it.
Lots to see, helpful staff and The Rugby Museum is on same property. Close to town and buses. Good opening hours.
This museum is well worth a visit. Over the years it has been expanding and now it is not only a museum but all in the same area is the science centre, art gallery and the N Z Rugby Museum

We had a look at the exhibition but really came for the reception which was fine. The catering was good and we had a laugh at the young man who argued with us over the pronounciation of "Merlot". he insisted we pronounce the 't'. He was all of 16 and we chuckled.

The kids can run riot while the adults slowly walk around reading all the plaques! Highly recommend this if your kids are looking for something to...

It was actually the ground floor of National Rugby Museum but it was absolutely interesting me and my friends. Walked around and learned more about the life of Manawatu region and its history. A must-visit place for those who would like to travel to Palmerston North.
Love keeping an eye on Te Manawa - from the amazing photo wildlife display to the Hairy Maclary to the permanent displays there is something for everyone
