We hired a twin, ride-on kayak to enjoy a sunny afternoon in Nelson. The kayak was good quality, hiring was really easy and good value ($60 for 2 hours). The chap we hired from was really friendly and gave us good advice about where to go/what to do. It was a relaxed trip and we enjoyed afternoon tea on the... More

We booked the Ferry to help with a wedding at the Lighthouse. Bruce was fantastic to work with! Even though the weather was creating some challenges, he was clearly focussed on safety first. It's a great way to get to Haulashore Island and the Lighthouse.

Good service for a very short trip...thats all one needs! When you get there, nice place to have a picnic and a swim. But you could just do that on the mainland" beach too!

We booked The Ferry for a brief visit to Haulashore Island as part of our MGSc geocaching challenge. We had excellent service delivered by Bruce, the very friendly owner of this ferry, with no waiting at either end of the trip across the haven. Bruce also does cruises within the harbour and across to the naturally formed Boulder bank and... More

I went with a group of Camera Club members on a dawn field trip to the Lighthouse. A wonderful morning. When I got back to shore I discovered that I had lost an expensive telephoto lens from my backpack. The owner arranged to meet me back at the wharf in half an hour. When I arrived he was accompanied by... More

If you're visiting Nelson, be sure not to miss Bruce Robertson's Haulashore Island Ferry. My wife and I had a wonderful couple hours cruising the harbor, enjoying the lighthouse and its great view of Nelson, learning about the unusual Boulder Bank that protects the harbor, and a little picnic on Haulashore Island. We were looking for something fun and different,... More
