A great short walk. Paved and easy. Lots of interesting information to read along the way. Great way to get close to the rock.

this is just a short walk at the base of the rock, if you are unable to do the whole base walk this is a great one to do. Easy to walk and you end up in a garden at the end.
We found this very insightful! I suppose the ranger you get can make or break, but ours was great and was receptive to our questions. Really helped provide context before a base walk - and it is free!
Thanks! Our free mala walk is very popular and it’s a great way to learn about the park before completing the base walk.

Great walk with deep history and cultural significance. Lots of rock paintings and areas where the local tribes gathered during their 22 thousand years in the area.
Mala Walk is a guided walk which takes about 1 hour to complete and begins at 8.00 am. However, without a ranger, the walk is doable by ourselves as there are a lot of interpretive signage along the way. My friend, and I, together with maybe 10 other visitors did the walk on our own - and not only did...

We went with a two year old and a pram. just fine. if it were not too hot you could easily walk around Uluru. just take enough water. do not climb the mountain though, it is quite dangerous. we saw several people struggling to get down.

We went on a lovely afternoon Uluru walking tour and Sunset with SEIT Tours and our lovely guide Jamie. What a great chap and so knowledgeable - he had a great sense of humour and explained everything brilliantly.

The leader kept repeating himself. The signs are quite good so we continued and walked around the whole walk which takes three hours. Rent a car ahead of time to get out there or you are stuck til your tour bus comes back.
Sorry about your tour leader – most of the guides are great as they have to learn all about the park before they are accredited. Glad you continued the Base Walk – it’s the best way to fully experience the natural and cultural beauty of Uluru. Thank you for your feedback.

Try to do this walk with the ranger at 10 a.m. (winter). You can learn most of the facts about the whole area just from this walk.
Thanks for letting us know you enjoyed this tour. In summer (October to April) it runs at the earlier time of 8.00 am. If you can’t catch a ranger-led tour we also have new interpretive signs and audio along the mala walk.
