Just wanted to mention that the previous comment is not correct - in Vilnius there is a very nice and colourful Greek Orthodox church, but St. Michael's church is not the one. It is one of only two churches in Vilnius, representing renaissance style (as well as Gothic and Barocco). :)

This is really worth a visit! Nice colors (the strong green for instance) cosy atmosphere and central position make this Church really worth a visit!

There are churches on every corner in Vilnius and most are very elaborate Gothic structures. But St Michael's is Gothic with Baroque features, and it had a simplicity and peace that the other churches somehow lacked. It was my favourite church in Vilnius.

Vilnius is usually called a baroque city, but this church is one of rare object remained from Renaissance period. And now it has opened a church heritage museum, full of nice peaces of church art.

This is now a museum of church art. They have free entrance last Friday of the month. One of very few places that offer an audioguide for rent. Perfect if you are into church art and goldsmithery.
