Take the mail boat for a 4 hour tour! You will not believe what you will see! Some of the most gorgeous scenery in the world!

We have lived in picton for 8 years now and woulld not change it for the world, Love getting out in our kayaks especially on a beautiful crisp clear winter morning.

Many people zip through Picton either hopping on or off the ferry, but this is a must. I did it on a Saturday, when the route is slightly longer, and it was great (even though it was raining). We recently spent 4 days in Picton and the Marlborough Sounds area, and had a wonderful time. We went initially to swim with dolphins, but unfortunately, the dolphins were all elsewhere. Stunning scenery of the land, cottages tucked away in amongst the bush, variation of birdlife. Serene stillness on the water.

Amazing scenic trip .....the most beautiful scenery ever and waterfalls so huge its a photographers dream.

We hired a car for the day and took a drive out, (cheaper than hiring 2 bikes!). The drive was v windy but the views were spectacular. It will be a day trip never to be forgotten. we visited vineyards too where I met some fellow country men. such a wonderful place.

Went on the mail boat around the Sounds, it was amazing, only one disappointment, didn't see any dolphins.

In my view compares with Milford and Doubtful Sounds - but warmer. can even swim in the water here. Great boating, fishing and walking. Quiet and relaxing. Why pay for power boat rides when the water taxis here can do the job!
