Was ok, didn't see any penguins, & don't think it was worth $22 per person. The rock pool was good for our young son, who loves to touch!

The aquarium worked well for young children - all the displays were easily accessible and well labelled. For the children being able to touch a tuatara and turtle were highlights. It was great to see the penguin in for rehab out for a swim. I was dissappointed that the much advertised sea horses were not there. The young man who...

The staff were very knowledgeable and great with kids. When we visited there was a little penguin recovering so it was interesting to see it up close. The staff are obviously highly educated about all of the animals and the area. It was a very nice change from a lot of places that just hire school kids for minimum wage...

We were given a guided tour of this small aquarium by a very knowledgable young man.The high point was to see close up a tiny penguin that was going through rehab. to eventually be released back to the wild.
size was disappointing for the price, pay $22nzd for not many animals. the penguin was pretty cute though.. but looked sad on its own! and no seahorses! yet advertised there was. Left you with the feeling "is that it?" when leaving.
Guides are great, the feeding times were cool seeing the animals up close and learing allot of information about them. The guides really make this attraction worth while so i suggest going there during a feeding time.
I certainly would not recommend this attraction to anyone. Very small, overpriced and needs an overhaul. I couldn't believe that there was only one main tank and not much else. Perhaps I have been spoilt by other aquariums overseas. I would have given one star if it weren't for the friendly and enthusiastic staff. If you have children it might...

We live locally but have been put off by the price. I understand that they charge what they need to to look after the animals properly but it's not in our budget to pay $40 for the two of us to take our one year old daughter. However, we got in for $5 each with vouchers that were featured. For...

The tour guide (nice chap) was very knowledgable and made the visit a joy to be there. Excellent experience to pat a tuatara, turtle and watch a penguin swim around right in front of you. Thank you lad.
We went to this aquarium specifically to see the penguin - with an obsessed seven year old, it was a "must" on our list of things to do in Malborough. I rang the aquarium earlier and was able to speak to someone who really gave me the run down on exactly what to do - without trying to on sell...
