The Smithsonian has several museums, but I think this is one of my favorites. The famous Blue Diamond is housed here, but so much more! They have a wonderful IMAX Theatre, so when you arrive, be sure to check the showtimes first, so you can attend the movie of your choosing.

You can't begin to see everything in one day. We practically ran through the whole thing. The only complaint is the restaurants. Lines were long so we ended up eating at the café. Paid $20 for two hot dogs and two drinks.

My young kids loved all of the animals and dinosaurs! My three year old said "Whao" every time we went to a new exhibit. The IMAX movie was great too! We will go back again for sure!

This is a must see. The museum is so clean and well done and informative and fun all at the same time. The exhibits were outstanding and it was all so interesting -from seeing Julia Childs kitchen and seeing how the food industry was affected by her to the First ladies inaugural gowns and there stories, it was great. It... More

Live butterfly collection with exotics, amazing fossil collection, of course the hope diamond, everything you imagine is at the Smithsonian. Just don't come during May when all of the millions of school kids come for the Spring field trips, its a little difficult to get up close to see the exhibits at times, otherwise it really cool

There is so much to see. There is something here for all ages. The butterfly exhibit is well worth the price. I would recommend purchasing those tickets online before you go. You can spend hours here if you have the time

The priceless gems exhibited here are something to see. The exhibit of dinosaur bones are always interesting and brings the epic novel Jurassic Park in sharp focus. I also enjoyed the exhibits showing the creatures that currently inhabit earth. A great learning experience for all ages.

The fist time I visited the National Museum of Natural History, I was disappointed to say the least. As a wildlife biologist, I love this stuff. The mammals wing was awful. Common names only, poor displays, nothing that would make anyone excited about what they are seeing or learn about these fabulous and far away critters. Well, the renovation to... More
