I haven't seen the other Mayan ruins or places like ATM but Caracol is truly amazing. Multiple structures spread over a wide area. It's a long drive but if you do any serious camping on Forest Service roads in the US west it's not any worse than that. It is worth it, amazing site with not a lot a visitors so it's quiet. If you can find Edward as a guide he is fantastic! More
