The homeowner is a gracious host and very knowledgeable regarding not only the history of the mansion, but of the Victorian era as well. Jim provided a lot of insight into aspects of that period that I was not aware of.

We made last minute reservations to go see the Beall Mansion. We had no problems getting in for a tour. We were greeted by Joe and he went into great detail about the mansion. It was very interesting and we also got to see books with pictures about the restoration of the house. Joe had alot of interesting stories about... More

Everyone seemed to enjoy it, and it is worth the visit. We were blessed with a sunny day and perfect temperatures. Allow an... More

Of the many things to do in Alton, IL this is a must. If you like history, architecture, relics from the past, this mansion has it. This house carries a great story and Jim tells it well. Every room is elegantly decorated and makes you feel like you are experiencing the 1900's first hand. 11-1/2 foot ceilings, marble floors, hand-carved... More
