One of the outposts along the caravan route, Chinguetti has been designated a World Heritage sight. Not far from Atar, it is an easy day trip into the desert using an all wheel drive truck. Today it is a shadow of it's former self, even less so than Timbuktu, but more inviting than the Malian trading post. A modern town... More
