Long Shan Temple is beautiful and interesting in many ways. It is especially moving to go in the late afternoon on the days of the new moon or full moon, when there are hundreds of people chanting and worshipping.

I went to Long Shan temple to shoot some pictures of authentic Taiwanese culture and religion. To my delight I have captured great scenes which depicts the true essence of their faith. Though you have to respect also not just to shoot and shoot people while praying...

This is full on cultural immersion. While this temple is located in the middle of the city, across from an MRT stop, one must remember to be respectful from the many who call this their primary place of worship. It's dreadfully humid in Taiwan, so taking the train is the best idea, but if you are adventurous, it's a nice... More

This is an old, famous temple in Taipei. My parents used to live near it. Lots of people go there on both weekdays and weekends. There must be something magical about it. Nevertheless, it's a must-see tourist attraction in Taipei. Just to see how many people go there and say their prayers is a good reason for you to visit... More

The temple itself was beautiful and I was able to take some great photos while I was there. I went on a weekday about midday and found the temple to have many people there.

It is one of the oldest area in Taipei. To be honest, when you come out from the MRT station, you might feel a bit scary as there are many homeless around the temple and station. Even if you are not religious, you might still feel the difference and see how the prayers pray for themselves or their familes. There... More

I should have learned about temple itself, history and the correct rules how to pray / have paper fortune before my visit. It was very impressive that the temple was filled by a lot of local godly peoples. Sacred place yet close to the life of locals. Worth to visit politely with full respect to gods and prayers, to feel... More

It is not the most popular among the tourist, but Long Shan Temple is the best I have been in Taipei. Not touristy, very solemn, place is very sacred and lots of local devotees come to pray. Come early in the morning via the MRT train that has a station very close to the temple. Blend with the local senior... More

This is a great temple to visit. It was extremely busy with many people worshipping. It's also in the oldest part of Taipei so take a walk around the area.

A beautiful temple and easily accessible by the MRT. This is a busy place for worship. Note on entering the spectacular waterfall to the right. Have a seat and observe the rituals but - PLEASE - do not stick your camera in the faces of the people who have come here for prayer and contemplation. This seems to be a... More
