I've been wanting to have an all day elephant experience for some time now. Patara, by reputation was my first choice, however they were booked. After positive reviews and research this company sounded good too. Our party of 4 felt well taken care of from start to finish. Hotel pick up was on time. Enjoyed the van ride out, as... More

The Thai Elephant home is absolutely fantastic! My boyfriend and I are on an around the world trip and so far this day has been a huge highlight. The home prides itself on being eco friendly and rescuing elephants from being mistreated and kept in poor conditions. We did the one day mahout training. It is pretty expensive in comparison... We took my 65 year old parents and my 2 year old daughter on the 2 hour trip for 1500thb p/p (2 year old free) and had a great time. We took a taxi for 1500thb return trip out there. When we arrived we were greeted with clothes to change into (take spare underware as you will want these for... More

An absolutely great experience!!! I strongly reccomend it to anyone. It is an opprotunity to get to know the elephants and have lot of fun. Riding an elephant backbare is easy and fun. The lunch served in the jungle was a delicious shrimp pad thai wrapped in a banana leaf. It is nice to know that your money serves a... More

We had a fantastic experience and highly recommend Thai Elephant Home. We took a two hour ride and I don't think you need more than that (or you'll be pretty sore the next day!) When we arrived we were greeted by our guide and taken down to the elephants. We met our elephants and were taught about the commands then... More

Thai Elephant Home lets you take care of your Elephant for the day. You learn basic commands, and you ride your elephant without a basket, right behind the elephants ears. The guides who run this place are very spiritual and took care of us as good as they took care of the Elephants. Bring bug spray and cover your skin... More

Exceptional day out. Not going to comment on the itinerary for the day, as other reviewers have this well covered. Nothing to add to the ethics of Ecotourism, this is well covered else where and you can make your own mind up... What I will say: Communication - we booked our day at short notice, emailing Joe first to check... More

My sister and I (both in our 50's) had one of the most fabulous days of our lives. This was a really upclose and personal encounter. The absolute highlight of the day was swimming in the wonderfully warm clean river with the elephants and washing all the mud of the elephants and ourselves (we had mud bathed them a short... More

What can I say? Riding an elephant bareback through the jungle is a once in a life time experience and you shouldn't miss out. Our guide was very knowledgeable and encouraging. He photographed us throughout the day, then emailed us a few hundred photos of our adventure, at no extra cost. Lunch was included and very filling. My only complaint... More
