Located near the old quarter this theatre is a must do, during your trip. 45 minutes of entertainment, traditional music and beautiful mastered puppet show. We booked through the concierge of the Metropole and got front row seats. Book ahead as it pretty busy, especially for the 5 pm show. A nice way to end up a day of touring... More

I really enjoyed the performance. The whole cast is so talented, including the vocalists and instrumentalists accompanying the water puppets, and it was such a nice touch to see to puppet handlers come out at the end during applause. This was the only "show" we saw during our 10-day trip and it was so nice to sit and enjoy a... More

A great snap shot of traditional vietnamese performing arts without going too long or being boring! Unfortunately there was only three of us at the theatre! Hopefully more people will realise the significance and support this performance! You can not do better for a few dollars US!

Dont miss this. Well worth it but book in advance because there is very limited seating. Located in one of the small, older houses. Some good restaurants closeby e.g New Day & Gecko.

For only $5, I found this a fun way to spend 45 minutes. The music and singers were great, the puppets were entertaining, and I felt I learned something about Vietnamese history and culture. I highly recommend this.

A unique, interesting and fun insight into Vietnamese culture and story telling. Not much more to say really.

In an old house in Hanoi, performers play strange but beautiful traditional music. This is something you really must see if you come to Hanoi. It is a very intimate experience, and once you get over how strange the music and singing sounds, and just let yourself enjoy it, it turns into something quite special. The location is in the... Bought the tickets at front desk and really enjoyed the performance with tea and coffee free. The folk songs and the artists combined an excellent night and very meaningful for us. Highly recommended!

I don't really understand the values of Ca Tru. However, it is interesting to know about one traditional art of Vietnam and watch the beautiful performers.

The puppet show provides English translation on TV screen which was good for us. But the puppets condition should be improved. Most of puppets look old and need to maintain.
