We very much enjoyed this cooking class during our stay in Istanbul. We were very lucky in that the other couple scheduled for the class had to cancel due to illness and that meant we were the only two people in the class and received very personalized service from Mehmet and his chef. You get to work in the actual... More

What a wonderful time we had taking this class! The food was great! Mehmet provided detailed instructions and demonstrations and we had hands on preparation work. There were 5 of us as participants, which was an ideal number as the kitchen was small. Yes, we prepared 5 courses, and I will be making them when I get back home. We... More

This was my first cooking class and I enjoyed it! Chef and Instructor were very professional and patient!! Learned some new things to bring back home with me. I would advise this class, however, 6 in the class is just the right size, any more would be crowded.

My husband and I participated in the class and couldn't have enjoyed it more. We learned a lot and loved visiting with Mehmet, our chef and other travelers visiting Istanbul. If you love to eat and/or cook, you'll love this class! The rooftop meal at the end (that we prepared!) was so much fun. We really recommend doing this as... More

I'm soo glad we did this! I'm an experienced cook, my husband isnt but we had so much doing this! Learnt so much about Turkish food culture and in our 3 weeks in Turkey this was the best meal we had! Fun, learning, doing just right proportions. Our stand out dish was something called Hunkar Begendi which was like a... More

Mehmet Emen , the manager of this hotel runs the course which started at 11 a.m. and finished at 3p.m. when we ate the results of our 'toil' on the rooftop terrace of this Hotel. My wife and I were in Istanbul for five days, four nights towards the end of May. A buddy of ours highly recommended this cooking school. It’s something we had done in Thailand and enjoyed thoroughly, so thought we’d give it a try here as well. Mehmet, the manager of the hotel and leader of the class was easy to... More

I really enjoyed the cooking class at the Sarnic Hotel as a convenient add on to our busy tour schedule. It is very worthwhile. I have chef traning and have taken cooking courses in France, Italy and Greece, and this was one of the best. It is a very comfortable and affordable hotel (see my separate review of hotel) and... The cooking class at the Sarnic Hotel was a fabulous experience .... Led by the hotel's manager, Mehmet, my husband and I not only learned to cook a complete Turkish meal, at the end we found ourselves seated with Mehmet on the hotel's rooftop terrace sharing the feast we had just created! To our left was a perfect view of... More
