The outside of the mosque is absolutely beautiful - at one end of Sultanahmet square there are lots of benches from where you can just sit and gaze at the amazing architecture. It is particularly beautiful at night. If you want to go inside then get there early as queues start forming from 9.00am onwards. The inner courtyard is particularly... More

I had only one day in Istanbul so had to choose which attractions to visit carefully. Blue Mosque was truly magnificent in its design and decoration and is really something worth seeing. It is also great to visit as they provide you with robes and head coverings if you don't happen to have attire that cover your shoulders, knees and... More

The whole atmosphere there was very interesting and beautiful. The little ritual when you need to cover your head and legs with scarf makes it more real. Ofcourse it is very impressive from the architecural side as well. And on the plus side its free of cahrge

I would go back to Istanbul just to sit in the courtyard of this magnificent building. It is one of the "MUST VISIT" places in the world

Access to the interior of the mosque is restricted to a small area although the tile work is incredible the true beauty of the mosque is the exterior and the grounds that surround it.

I visited the Blue Mosque on the way back from two weeks in Italy.Seeing the Blue Mosque within the context of seeing the Vatican and the churches of Rome and Florence and Siena provided a great opportunity to think about how various worship communities are similar and different. I come from a Christian "low church" background myself, in which churches... More

From the outside in the night it loks very nice, but in the morning when you get closer it is not what I always expected, and what I thought it could be, Even the walls I thought would be all marmol, but they were not, and the indide is not what I have seen in movies. A must see for... More

Very beautiful looking from outside, inside is ok but no much excitement than outside. Maybe I've seen too many mosques around world already. But I have to say the profile of it is the most beautiful one!

You will queue for quite a while and once inside although the ceiling is lovely there is not a lot to see, especially compared with other attractions in Istanbul. It does look lovely at night, lit up, when viewed from Sultanahamet square. Less than an hour inside but more than an hour queuing.
