I like the fact that one is able to listen to the recordings of survivors of this tradegy and see their faces on the screen and reliaze that these are human beings like ourselves I dislike the fact that people tend to forget unless it afects them

It was informative. The Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C made me cry. This one was a lot of walking ad had a history not so much personal atmosphere about it.
If you have a weak constution, then do not go, I held it together until the last Exhibit, the circular room containing the files of all the known names, and the space left for all the other names, once the research department had found them. Its a walk through a very, very dark period in human history. A story that...

Take your time and get to know the people and understand what happened. If you aren't mad by the end of the inside exhibits go back and start over again. The outside gardens and sculptures will help calm you down, except the rail car going over into the abyss. Wonderfully done; all dictators and oppressive rulers, and anyone with a...

There are no words that can express this museum other than "how in the world could someone be so mean?". To know this happend is one thing, to see what happened is something else. Take lots of tissues.
It is a superbly built & curated museum. My father a WWII veteran of the Pacific learned SO MUCH he simply did not know. The reluctance of WWII vets in general to speak of this war is in part the cause of much lack of knowledge. A press & politic that did not do all they could another.....it is mind...

After the museum , dont miss the Valley of Communities, down a long path to a 2.5 acre monument to the towns that were destroyed in the Holocaust. Probably the best monument i have ever seen, simple yet grand and glorious.
The museum starts in dramatically by showing a short film of people that disappear in and out of the film. A foretelling of what's to come. I thought i knew about the Holocaust. This museum is an eye opener. There are actual artifacts and videos of horrible things being done to the Jewish people. It tells many personal stories and...

The profoundness of human pain and suffering thru are was something everyone should experience. Nothing before has ever moved me do than this museum. An important story how humankind is able to hate one race to the point of tortue and destruction. This experience can only be understood in person. A bucket list must see!
