it depends on your preferences, its a between Tehran and Imam Khomeini airport, so you can see it on the way to Tehran from airport because its really big!!
I think you have more problems with his ideology than anything else yes, the shrine is not finished but for those who follow Iman Khomeini's beliefs, they don't really care. You are not allowed to take photos inside the place. You have to take off your shoes before going in. The shrine itself is simple and down to earth. Outside its surrounded by palaces. I saw many iranians praying or crying at Khomeinis tomb. I shall recommend to go there.
i hate this place.. has nothing speciall, just wasting your time! this is my advise for you: in my opinion never ever visist this place, it ia dirty and not interesting, and everybody looks at you as a freak!!!!!!! and women should were CHADOR there, that i hate, i really hate!!!

If you have time on the way to the airport, it is worth the detour. It was full of people, with families camping on the grass around the building. Very relaxed and joyful atmosphere, as if this would be a place where to enjoy some moments of peace rather than moments of prayer. Quite good from this point of view.... More
