This is a lovely street in the Khan al Khalili. You can walk from Bab Foutouh down to the khan. The street continues on to bab zuweilah. Mynfavorite part of the street is towards Bab Foutuh and has shops and some lovely medieval buildings. It is pedestrianized in parts, others are busy with cars, horse carts and tea vendors. The... This is the oldest or most important street of medieval Cairo along which are a great number of historically significant monuments. It's definitely worth a day or half a day's visit. From Khan el-Khalili you can follow the main paved street north to a series of back-to-back monumental complexes built by various sultans. The street ends at the northern gate... More

In most historic places around the whole world; you can't find all these ancient buildings & landmarks together in one street , really preserved & finally cleaned, decorated & taken care of by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism.

You begin your tour from El Nasr (victory) gate, which is one of the gates in the wall surronding old cairo. Just at the end of the gate you will find a grave of a man who had the dream of entering cairo but the guards of the gate didn't allow him, when at last they gave him permission, he... More

Unfortunately the street is paved now and lacks its authentic atmosphere plus now full of cars you have to be always careful... More
