Makes you forget you are in Singapore - reminded me of my childhood days. Other than rustic and back to nature, I feel safe (no crocs) or strange people or animals lurking around!

I took my parents & husband up to the park for a day out in the fresh air. I don't have a car & the public transport is very easy to get there as there is a private Kranji bus service that takes you from the MRT to the park. We saw loads of monitor lizzards, crabs, mudskippers, kingfishers &... More

You can sign up for a free guided tours on certain Saturdays at the NParks online web site. We found the tour, provided by volunteers, to be very useful as they can point things (trees, herbs, insects, bird calls, ...) that we would otherwise not notice. Come prepared with good walking shoes even for the shortest of the trails. It... More

It's a bit of a pain to get there by public transport, especially any other day than Sunday. And getting a cab to pick you up is a bit of a hassle. The price you have to pay is quite symbolic; I do not remember exactly how much, except I wondered if it covered the print of the tickets and... More

Both times we visited, it rained! But the (mostly) covered boardwalks kept us reasonably dry, and we were able to see birds, monitor lizards, mudskippers and many other creatures in their natural habitat- the endangered wetlands. Upside: interesting walks, very well maintained environment, helpful and friendly staff. Downside: very far from most other local attractions (Except Bollywood Veggies, which is... More

Free (weekdays). Fantastic. Far away. Feathered. Friendly. Feathered friends Maybe not everyone wants to wander round wetlands and hide in hides. Why not? Forget the crocodiles that are actually monitor lizards! Forget the mud but not the mudskippers. If you are there at the right time of the year, it is amazing: Herons, kingfishers, sunbirds, you name it! But when... More

This is the perfect place to be to spend a couple of hours leisurely walking well-kept paths and boardwalks and watching crabs, monitor lizards (one of them was strolling through the ticket counter house when we arrived), different birds and completely forgetting about this metropolis. Why not combine with a trip to one of the many farms in Kranji, for... More

Clearly birds, cicadas, mudskippers, crabs and monitor lizards are everywhere easy to be seen. But stay quiet and look also for the other interesting animals. The crocodile is the highlight, the squirrels are not so shy, but today we also saw three different types of snakes and some truly interesting spiders (see photos). Always a pleasure to go back and... More

Seriously, I never know there's such nature spot in Singapore until my friend told me so. I brought my overseas friends to the nature reserve and they enjoyed the place just as much as myself.
