Good museum of local history. Good information. An hour is enough time. Great place to get out of the rain.
This museum, just up from San Domingo is housed in an old hospital around two courtyards which have all been beautifully restored. It tells the story of Quito from its beginnings, through Spanish rule to today. Exhibits are a mixture of reconstructions, objects, holograms, projections and pictures. one of the strangest museums i have visited. the exposition is kinda "we don´t really know what to show, but we have bunch of various stuff out here". don´t expect straightforward idea to be proposed in this museum, nor exploration of things from A to Z.
