Travelling in the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a route between mountains, clouds, snow-capped mountains and puna finishing in the majestic Lake Titicaca. Its coaches involve you in an environment extremely decorated with the elegant style of Pullman trains of the decade of 1920. Its tourist shows, the 5-fork lunch, dining cars, observatory-bar car outdoors, among other attractions. « less

This is typical of the Orient Express. Travel in comfort and elegance accompanied by good food, excellent service and original entertainment. The train boarded from 7:30am and departed Pno at 8:00am. The journey to Cuzco took 9 hours but the scenery was interesting and often extremely beautiful. Initially the train slowly travels through the streets of Puno; then skirts Lake... More

What a delightful train trip! This 10-hour journey between Cusco and Puno on Lake Titicaca is wonderful. The train is decorated and styled in early 20th century motif. It's very comfortable with seats taking the form of real armchairs. There is lots of glass in the cars to allow for great viewing of the scenery. There is a bar car... More

We had a great time traveling form Punos to Cusco by train. Although 10 hours, it flew by. The staff was superbe, the food great and the view breathtaking. Between the live music, fashion show, bartending classes to learn how to make Pesco, and the stop with the locals to look at their crafts and alpaca, we never had a... More

We really enjoyed our train trip from Puno to Cusco and an added plus was that by going in this direction it was nearly half the cost of going from Cusco to Puno! There is an observation deck at the back of the train which is a good place for taking photos. There was a fashion show and cocktail demonstration... More

The Andean Explorer Train was fabulous! We loved every minute of it! The entertainment was great, beautiful scenery and very pretty train cars. If I was to travel from Puno to Cusco again, I would choose Andean Explorer.

It takes about 1-2 hours more than the bus from Cusco to Puno, but it is so relaxing and pleasant. The bar/observation car is partly open air and fantastic for pictures and looking around.

Okay I am biased and I love trains, but what a lovely way to travel, glass roofed train carriages, nice food, a fashion show, and some of the best scenery in the world! a Great Trip.

Having scanned all the positive comments it's hard to add to the list ... it's all true! This has been one of the highlights of travelling in Peru (Cuzco to Puno). Met interesting people, watched the fantastic scenery slide by from the carriage and the observation 'caboose', entertained by the on-board shows, impressed with the style and quality of the... More

Well worth every penny you pay. It really is something you should do once in your life given the opportunity. Not only is the train sophisticated with full dining, but the scenery is exquisite every pat of the journey. From rolling mountains, to thundrous rivers, you see it all. What is simply fascinating about this journey is that you really... More

On our journey through Peru we flew to Puno and took the Andrea Explorer back to Cusco. So glad we did. From the moment you enter the station you get a sense of being set apart from the outside world here, which can be rather stark and impoverished. The staff are friendly and seem happy to assist you. There is... More
