Like many of the churches and cathedrals in Kiev, the buildings and colours are truly outstanding. St. Andrews is no exception. Perched high above the other buildings in the area, the first glance of of the church is breathtaking. There are a number of stairs to climb to enter the church. What was highly amusing was the amount of people... More

OMG! The most beautiful church in Kiev! The church is placed on a building, which serves as a foundation, amazing! You should get a guide, it's cheap but worth the money! T

St. Andrew's church stands on the hill above the Dnieper at the beginning of Andriivskiy Uzviz and its light blue walls with golden decoration are clearly visible. Now church is under reconstruction and needs renovation both inside and outside. We were lucky to visit it on Sunday on the 7th of April ( religious holiday of Virgin Mary Annunciation in... More

This is just at the end of the market street and is definitely worth popping into. It's a beautiful church with great views of the city. It's one of the smaller churches, so you only need a few minutes, but it's definitely worth a visit.

St Andrew's church is a very beautiful church visible from many areas of the city as it is located on top of the hill. I was lucky to visit the church and the Andriyivsky Uzviz on Sunday where a street market full of souvenirs, paintings and others, takes place. St Andrew's church is not as big as other churches in... More

One of the places you visit when you are here, see as a tourist and as a history interested person. You need to know the local language though, as not many speak English.

A beautiful, beautiful place. I've lived most of my life in St.Petersburg, where the grander and better known buildings by the same architect are located, but consider St. Andrew's Church a gem nevertheless.

Built in the honour of St Andrew (Apostle of the Kievan Rus), the Church broke ground in 1744. According to the chronicle The Tale of Bygone Years, Saint Andrew came to the Dnieper (Dnipro) river's slopes in the 1st Century AD and erected a cross on the current location of the church. He prophesied that the sparsely inhabited area would... More

One of my favorite churches in Kiev, the color is absolutely gorgeous! And it's on a hill, so if you follow the St. Andrew`s decent down, then you can look up at it in all its glory.
