Excellent chamber orchestra in comfortable surroundings - very knowledgeable audience. Surprisingly small for a National venue in such a musical country but lovely and intimate nonetheless

They play in an old and nice building close to the city center (different from the Opera House ...). You cannot buy tickets by internet (os at least I did not discover how ...) and you have to go and buy them to the ticket booth at the premises. Concert (flute + piano) was outstanding. This old merchant's exchange was transformed into a symphony hall. In addition to its charming interior... and you should definitely try to finagle a view of some of the reception rooms with their colorful plasterwork... it's got surprisingly fine acoustics for chamber and choral music. I saw the most fantastic Carmina Burana here years ago... have never found a recording... More

Small church that's full also on Sundays. The view over the river is amazing but could be better when the repair guards a removed.

If you'd like to plunge into good chanber music, then look for a concert at the National Philharmonic. They have a nice variety of concerts each week for different tastes: string, wind bands, guitars, piano etc. Tickets can be bought in the ticket office situated in the Philhamonic's basement. Prices are cheap, usually 40-90 hryvnas (=4-9 Euro)

well, be careful what ou pick up for a visit. was there twice. piano concert was amazing. the other one with singing no so much.

Superb performance in the FanZone in Kiev during EURO 2012

We lucked out as there was an excellent performance of the Kiev Philharmonic our last night in Kiev. Buying the tickets ahead of time was easy due to the proximity of our lodging.
