I recently did this hike on a beautiful sunny, clear day. Its not hiking really at all, just a bunch of stairs going up the hills, and while the view was nice, it was not as impressive as I had expected given the many reviews. It was really pretty boring. If you are in El Salvador and you want nice... More

Puerta del Diablo is a must visit site if you live in El Salvador or are spending any significant time there. It's VERY Salvadoran, especially on Sunday nights. There are a few good hikes in the little hills by the parking lot, a tiny one cable zip line, some carnival rides and of course, food stands. It's a great place... More

This site offers a nice view through the"door" and from a few elevated points. There is no fee. The site has Meso-American historical significance. A few shops and restaraunts here make this a good place to stop on a road farther afield.

This is a great short trip with a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape. The hike up is a bit steep, but short, and accessible with steps carved out of the dirt. For the ease and brevity of the hike, the view is unbeatable. The trip is quick though. Most would be done in an hour and there isn't much... More

We went all the way up at the "Devil"s Door" to see the city beneath us... A lot of stairs, great views from San Salvador, the volcanos, the lake and the sea... Bring comfortable shoes to climb the stairs, sun glasses and shorts... You might need a sweeter sometimes!

This is a pretty natural park-like setting. There is a climb to a beautiful view, and the drive up to the area is gorgeous. Worth the trip.

Do not expect to find any American tourists here. Puerta Diablo is a place that authentic and unspoiled by mass tourism. Hand cranked merry-go-round, lots of interesting local foods, a $2 zip line, and great pupusas. The view from the top is assume!
