We only had a short time here and went around midday so a lot of the animal and bird life were pretty quiet. We saw some wonderful hummingbirds, butterflies, and leaf cutting ants. The watchtower is mixing and so beautiful to see the rainforest copy from above. I recommend taking time to visit. We plan to go back next time... More

It was a little warm, but definitely worth seeing. I saw lots of ants, lizards and some big bugs, not as many birds as I would of hoped.

The images I have from the tower, looking across the plush tree canopies at sunrise, will stay with me for my lifetime. The peace I felt. Don't forget binoculars or a telescope to view exotic birds from the tower and don't fail to go there very early in the morning when all the birds and animals are awake. After 10... More

We loved this park and walked around for hours, climbed the tower and watched the numerous bird species as they went about their business. This park does not cost very much and the ticket seller will give you a credit toward a purchase in their tiny gift shop. There are dozens and dozens of hummingbirds flying about, hovering around the... More

I was there for the sake of birding. The various trails were mostly two-rut roads through the jungle...great for birding. Plenty of very interesting other plant and animal life as well. Like everything else around PC, it was a bit warm there in April. Take plenty of water.

We took the pipeline road for a few hours in the early morning. We expected to see much more birds and wildlife, specifically we would wanted to see a toucan but we didn't see much more than a few small birds and a few howler monkeys. The treck was easy and I enjoyed walking in the jungle but was a... More

We hire a birdwatching company that took us to the pipeline road. Excellent we were able to see and phograph motmot, toucan and mny birs. The road is shaded no hils so you will enjoy the breeze as well,it was a hot day.

Really great trails and animal and bird watching. Favourite trail for us is the Oleaducto (Pipeline trail.) Howler monkeys, Sloths, Ant eaters, Capuchin monkeys, Toucans, Mot mot, Morpehus butterfly, Hummingbirds, and many other bird and insect species. Easy trail to with a visitors centre after around 45 mins walking. Need to drive there or get a cab to take you... More

Panama is famous for its flora and fauna. Soberania Park is a great place to get in the forest while not being far from the city.

Birdwatchers who think of Panama think first of Pipeline Road but they could be disappointed. Other people we spoke to made similar comments. Try the ponds by the ammunition compound - lots to see.
