Empty beach. We packed a lunch and biked out to watch the seals for the afternoon, simply beautiful.

Because we were there in the middle of October there were very few people there which was lovely. We were not interested in swimming, just walking on the beach and watching the surf. It is a beautiful spot...we saw a number of seals which was just wonderful.

Be sure to visit this side of the island. We were very glad we went. You should go before it disappears into the sea.

Watching the bright green waves roll in onto the beach and the smell and feel of the salty ocean sea spray leaves a big grin on your face.

The perfect end to a perfect day - a fiery sunset dipping down on the cool ocean on a day that was perfectly 12 hours from sunrise to sunset, just in time for a nice evening dinner!

One of the best places to watch the sunset that we've ever been. Take a bottle of wine and a blanket and your camera!

Miles of serenity...almost feels like you're on a private beach!!! Coffee on the beach in the morning, sunbathing, fishing, walking, seal watching, and best location to watch the sunset!!!

This beach is walking distance from Millie's Restaurant so you can get some food to go to this beautiful and secluded beach. It was our first visit to this beach and we were so glad we sought it out during this trip.

The Madaket Beach is at the far western end of the island and easily accessed right at the end of the Madaket Rd. The road has a parallell bike/roller blade/ walking paved path so although it's six miles from town, the trip out is scenic and easy. Just shy of the beach is Millie's, a summertime restaurant with a side... More

If there is no lifeguard, be aware of the tides here. They can have rip currents. My mother has been pulled out of this water before. The waves are strong. That being said, it is 8 miles from town. Bike path goes right to it. Restrooms are port a johns. Convenience store and restaurant right there as well. Shuttle service... More
