If you have small children, do not miss this beach! It is my daughter's favorite place in "the whole world."

If you want to bring your kid(s) to a place with a playground, beach, and water, I highly recommend Jettis beach instead. Better view, more beach to work with, and CLEAN water. Many kids have gotten sick from swimming in the nasty harbor water here. There's also more lifeguards on staff at Jettis, a playground too, more parking, and an...

Too close to the harbor and smell of the petrol from the boats...very busy harbor with all of the steamship authority and hy line ferry crossings....I would recommend putting on a life preserver and hold on to your child and go to Surfside Beach and get a real sense of a beach and ocean and salt water and fresh air.

If it is hot in Nantucket and the kids are cranky, take them to the very gentle Children's Beach. A short walk from town, playground facilities, calm water, nice folks and a good breeze. Everyone will be happier in no time.
It is great for children and ADULTS !! You can see Brandt Point light house ! It is close to all the shoppes and restaurants !!
