Went for a walk along the beach in mid-February. Lots of rocks of all sizes on the beach, lots of pretty shells and stones, saw a seal in the water, watched clay-tinged water ooze from the dunes onto the sand (please heed all warnings/notices about the dunes). A pleasant walk.

anchored off shore and swam ashore, painted ourselves in several colors of clay with chunks that fell off into the sea. Please do not accelerate erosion by taking clay still in the cliff.

Took the boat out from Woods Hole and motored around the Elizabeth islands and Gay Head. Highlight: a giant TUNA popped up next to the boat. Didi catch a blue fish off middle ground. The weather was typical for this time of the year: perfect!

A serene, beautiful spot to spend the day. It was the best part of our visit to Martha’s Vineyard. On our 1st trip to MV we used a tour bus which was great. But the next visit we drove ourselves here for the day. It was well worth the drive. It is a truly gorgeous place that we were able... More

The views here are fantastic! The cliffs are beautiful and the blue ocean is just gorgeous. The lighthouse is very nice. The views are spectacular from the top. This is a place not to miss--the drive up is very pleasant, too. Nothing to buy from the gift shops, though. No fee for the view from outside but there is a... More

The Gay Head Light and area was great when we arrived. A spectacular view of the water and clay cliffs as well as the lighthouse are the reason the mission out to the area is worth it. It takes approximately an hour to get to Aquinnah from the ferry docks in Oaks Bluff or Vineyard Haven. Great view must see... More

The lighthouse is great. You get spectacular views from the top of the landscape and the cliffs. If you wantto see the cliffs from a different angle, take the pathto the beach and look up at the colors its amazing.

After you climb the stairs to view the magnificent colored clay cliffs and the blue ocean beyond, it is a must that you find your way to clothing optional Zack's beach via the Moshup trail accessed from the lower parking lot. Turn right onto the beach at the bottom of the trail. The hike to the rocky shores beyond is... More

You have to go to Gay Head to have a good view of the Aquinnah Cliffs and the Gay Head lighthouse. Very scenic and picturesque. Don't miss these attractions when you visit Martha's Vineyard!
