Fernando was my guide and he was excellent. He and I set off at 9am on our Kona bikes and had a magical tour around the surrounding villages in the foothills of Antigua. We visited the ciudad vieja which has been totally rebuild following the devastating mud slide and volcanic eruption, the macadamia farm, the village famous for weaving crafts... More

This is a bit out of date, but can give some data about the hike that does not change! My wife and I did this with our 1.5 yr old year old son. Warning: don't try this unless you are prepared. We have a good hiking backpack/child carrier, and I have carried him up ~3000 ft vertical hikes (around Vancouver... More

During our recent stay in Antigua, my group and I were very much interested in doing a hike to Volcan Pacaya. We decided to check out Old City Outfitters based on a recommendation we saw from an Antigua travel guidebook. We couldn't have been happier with the service provided by the Old City Outfitters team, especially with our guides, Jose... More

I did the 32 mile guided cross country ride. The included bike (Kona hardtail) was excellent for the price - newer and well maintained. The ride route included plenty of climbing, some technical sections, great local/ cultural scenery. My small group was the guide, a couple, and myself. We were all pretty fit. So the ride was a great workout... More

The group I was with booked two hikes with Old Town Outfitters. The first was Volcan Pacaya. Although they needed a minimum of 5 people to book the hike, they booked it for our group of four. The next morning we left on time with our bilingual guide. We picked up a local guide (per the regulations), and ended up... More

Review for old town outfitters My 2 friends and I booked a 3 day tour of Lake Atitlan through Old Town Outfitters. We went into their office on a Sunday, and were on our tour the next day. The staff arranged the tour very quickly for us and we paid via credit/debit card. If you choose to pay with card,... More

Very much a trip of two halves, firstly a fab week of single track, climbing, and ravines, starting at lovely old Anitigua, and finishing at one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Then a day relaxing at the gorgeous Casa del Mundo, complete with huge hot tub, which we had to share with a woodburning stove! Having been... More

I had a wonderful experience with O.T.O. I’m not a very outdoorsy person, but I had friends who were visiting Antigua from abroad and I knew they had never seen a volcano up close before. So I decided to surprise them and booked us for on a Pacaya volcano hike. I'm so glad I did, it turned out to be... More

I did a trip with them that involved summiting 7 volcanoes over two weeks. Everything went off with without a hitch. A truly professional organization. If you are planning on doing any adventure travel in Guatemala, then look no further. More

So back in December a friend and I bored in Antigua thought hey lets climb that massive volcano next to Volcan de Fuego so we can camp overnight and watch Fuego erupt seeing how active it is. That massive volcano is Volcan Acatenango with a peak at around 3900m above sea level. So we go into Old Town to arrange... More
