Great day trip with amazing sights. The island is so beautiful and there is plenty to see and do for a whole day. If you have the time spend a night here as it is idyllic and so relaxing.

One boat takes you to one end of the island, another one returns you, at the other side of it! Try commuter buses... what a zoo. The island is totally bland. A bit too dry, with little vegetation and hardly any structure to visit. It wastes a full day, that i would spend in Plitvice Park or Dubrovnik. Really, not... More

We caught the ferry from Split to Hvar and then a local, very comfortable, bus across the island to see Bol. As it was very early in the season, there was little to see apart from the sandy spit at Bol, although the small harbour is attractive. The harbour at the ferry terminal is also attractive and the bus journey... More

We took the ferry from Split and it took about 2 hours. After exploring, we decided this is where we should have come to spend a few nights. The island is quiet, serene, natural. We were there preseason, so it was not crowded. I think because it is a little harder to get to it might not get quite as... More

We were there pre-season and it was great - I imagine it's pretty different in the middle of summer.

Some excellent beaches, beautiful old towns and great wines which are not that easy to find. The town of Hvar is full of tourists, but other places are less frequent and maybe even more interesting, e.g. Jelsa.

Because of the limited ferry schedule you are stuck on the island even if you have seen all you want to see. If you are looking to relax by the water and enjoy the sun, this is the place. Water is beautiful

In order to truly enjoy the Hvar Island, one must really explore beyond Hvar city. When i was there, i started to get a a feeling that i have seen everything there was to see already on the first day. With that, the next day I decided to rent a scooter and get lost (literally...). I spent a wonderful day... More

A lot of the hotels and activities were closed as we visited in early April, but there was still enough going on to make it a very worthwhile trip. Definitely take the gentile walk up to the fort for amazing views.

I flew to Spilt to start my wonderful Croatian holiday. This Place is the best connection to Hvar islands. Hvar islands are like heaven on earth. My husband and me had a wonderful time here sailing to the pretty small islands around it. We rented a boat ourselves, took our swim suits and tanned ourselves in this sunny and heavenly... More
