Good for a week's visit with great depth of history in a spectacular location. The only downsides are the crowds, the cruise ship invasions and its more expensive than it should be.

Wonderful walled city. Loved the fact it was pedestrianised so no cars to negotiate.

It was the exact image I always had of a Mediterranean walled city, with narrow, stepped streets between pretty, white-bleached stone buildings each with a red roof, pretty restaurants, delicious ice cream, and a beautiful port.

interesting town with plenty to see. The walking tours in the Insight Guide are very easy to follow and cover the whole city. Take in some concerts in the evening too

Loved the architecture, little narrow streets with cafes and shops. Everything looked pristine. Found some of the steps in the narrow streets a bit hazardous though. My friend fell and broke her ankle.

The old town is a lovely place to spend a day or 2. If you eat & shop in the back streest off the main road its cheaper & the food is better.

Very pretty old town. Lots to look at and some good walking tours.

A great mixture of history, style and entertainment with plenty to see and do. Great just to stroll around and enjoy the atmosphere. Very impressed with the Croation people - very friendly and helpful - not the usual jaded, tourist-weary attitude.

One of the best stops on our trip. Will definitely go back.
