Can get very crowded. Trains are spotlessly clean. Easy to navigate around city. Very economical. Although as a western woman unsure if we are required to stand when train gets full.
Vert clean, well connected Metro. It was punctual. Avoid Rush hours as it gets difficult to travel with kids at that time
What a discovery for a few £'s (14AED) you can travel over 5 zones via the monorail. Very easy, clean, safe and convenient way of traveling in the city. Two lines that deserves a good part of Dubai. 4 AED for a short trip, 6.5 for a longer one.
So clean, great cheap way to get around although it can take a long time. Has some good views as you ride along though. Don't eat or drink anything.

the metro is very nice to use, i use it every day, apart from weekends, but the fillipnos do not know the meaning of letting people out 1st and then you walk in, they just stand infront of the doors and do not let anyone walk out,
