Didn't know what to expect driving 20 miles out of Omaha to Ashland to see the Strategic Air & Space Museum. I was not disappointed one bit, this museum was unbelievable, housing a huge amount of WWII transport, bombers, fighters, etc as well as all kinds of incredible cold war jets that you could climb into. The history of the... More

Made a one hour visit and enjoyed all the airplanes. The Strategic Air Command part of the museum is very well done. The Space part, not so much. Three or four pieces in the back corner of one of the display floors with a nice tribute to an astronaut from the local area. It was great to be able to... More

It was great, really great and we wish we had allotted more time to visit. Due to traffic problems earlier that day we arrived about one hour before closing. We debated whether it was worth the cost of admittance for just an hour. It was! There was way too much to see in the time we had before it closed.... More

If you have any interest in Aviation, rocketry or history you will enjoy this place. I remember reading stories when I was young and many of the stories involved planes on display here. And what a display. These are full size planes, many of which you can actually enter and examine. And then imagine what it would be like to... More

The museum is a must see for travelers or those who are interested in aviation. Those of us who live near the famous Offut Airforce Base are used to seeing this history on display at the annual Offut Air Show love the annual event but this year it is being canceled because of budget cuts so my recommendation is to... This is truly a great Museum for any Flight buff or novice for that matter. Some truly rare displays of one of a kind aircraft. A newly restored B-29 is a real highlight as well as the B-1A bomber which was one of only 4 built. The B-58 Hustler on display set a speed record from Tokyo to London. A... More

Along I-80 between Lincoln and Omaha, there isn't a whole heck of a lot of things to pull you off the highway. And you could easily blink and miss the exit for this museum. That would be a mistake. This was an absolutely incredible find, something I had planned a something of a throwaway to pass the time before we... More

My husband and grandson go out every time the grandson is in town. Last summer they stayed 6 hours. Some of the special exhibits and speakers have been really spectacular. The guys spend lots of times with the planes. I'm not so much into planes, but there is always something interesting or historical.

Having checked the internet to see my first B-17 on my travels we headed to Offutt AFB Nebraska to view same but after a strange episode with a Airforce MP at the gate we found the plane had left years before and with 'No pass Sir , Y'All can't come in " we turned around and headed for the SAC...
