Came on a Saturday afternoon in May. The square was covered by mist and hence visibility was very poor. We could hardly see the sea. Do we are unable to share positive comments other than a few items like the Centenary monument with footprints that we were able to see at close range.

Nice place to walk around. Big open spaces, and on the water. Lots of luxury condos springing up all over this area.

I have been here in summer and peak winter.... The place is lovely in summer with a view of the sea. The most amazing restaurants around. I was there on lanten festival and saw the square light up with fireworks... Reminded me of indian diwalii

Xinghai Square is the largest square in Asia built on a monumental scale overlooking the Bohai Sea. it is popular with the locals with huge space to walk around and enjoy what is more like a large park than a square. Ideal for family & couples. Has some great 5 star hotels overlooking the Bohai sea.

This is a must see in Dalian! It is a huge, very nicely decorated square, near the sea. Do not miss the chance to take pictures with the metal human sculptures.

As a European, it's hard not to be impressed by the audacious scale of this "square", which is actually an enormous oval. It's actually quite hard to appreciate from the ground, but a hotel is being built on the seaward edge of the square which should afford fairly spectacular views when completed.
