Such endeavors take a long time to mature. There is some good stuff there. Location is little difficult to find. Attempt to visit if you are in South Goa and lot of spare time

A Place to see some excellent artefacts, also connecting with artists. The place also hosts music concert once in a while, which adds colour to the place. Must thank the owner Victor and his wife for putting up the place together

As the founder of the museum, Victor Hugo Gomez, explained to us, the purpose of the museum was to preserve as much local history as possible by collecting original (restored as needed) implements. Thefounder has undertaken this task on his own and does not receive any government funding for his efforts. He has quite a collection and it is housed... More

Very interesting look back over Goa's past. Well put together and still being extended to add room for more old carriages.

Really interesting museum that is also used for occasional concerts/dinners. We went there twice to see a Beatles tribute band and a couple of jazz singers, both of which were excellent, as was the food. Fascinating collection of artifacts from rural Goa and a beautiful building.

One can approach it from Colva, Benaulim or Madgaon by cab, auto or even by local bus. You can get a glimpses of the rich agrarian culture of Goa by visiting this ethnographic museum. Importance is given... More

Armed with a cast-iron perseverance to preserve all things Goan especially of the bygone era deserves much more accolades than he is given credit for. 'Goa Chitra' is one man's single effort to salvage what has remained of our rich past. It's not just a museum like the deeply dedicated curator himself Victor Hugo Gomes pointed out, but a classroom,... More

Please do not leave Goa without paying homage to this wonderful place! Victor and Allie have dedicated their life to the preservation of traditional Goan culture and do so with panache. The museum is full of interesting collections and the hip couple regularly host movie and music nights in their outdoor bar and dining room. This is not your run-of-the-mill... More

off the beaten track, interesting collection of antique farming equipment, kitchen utensils, brass ware, household nic-nacs; we were told only less than half had been displayed yet, would love to go back and see the complete collection of artefacts
