The Sarkhej Rauza is the tomb of Mahmud Begada. Sarkhej is a crowded suburb of Ahmedabad and getting to the Rauza is not easy. Once there you can see a beautiful neglected monument. I wish it was better promoted and cared for.

one of the old historic site from the time of King Ahmed Shah the successor of Ahmedabad. and the artwork of the window is great and hard to imagine how they could have done at that time.
Sarkhej Roza is a little inaccessible but a must visit if you like history, old architecture and good craftsmanship. The structures and the stone jalis are beautiful and one should go with a little time to sit back and appreciate it all.
I happened to visit Sarkhej Roza twice for a program organized by craft of art to celebrate world heritage day ! The roza was illuminated so artistically that one can feel the grandeur of it by night. Need more attention by authority to maintain as it is popular worship place too.
very old sculpture and not maintained properly eventhough it falls under world herritage. needs more precution to be taken by people supporting the organisation to grow more in popular as it is unique structure.
Its serenity, its scale, its preserve, with little information and imagination, one can easily conjure up the glory of Gujarat's Middle Ages that coincided with city's founding.
One of the best designed summer complexes in wester india. Sarkhej Rouza is par excellence, with its lake (now dry since five years!) and the stepped pavillions. The mosque is so simple yet so well proportioned. I take my students to this site.
better known as sarkej this wonderful shrine palaces etc is so pitifully neglected.one could make comparisons with nizamuddin or the amazingly attended dargah at ajmer.here this holy place is left to fall down.what a great shame.it is quite stunning when glistening in the sun or just a marvellous place for contemplation or a gentle peaceful rest away from the relentless...

This is a beautiful mosque with a nice park built around it, unfortunately things are not so well documented. enjoy the architecture and the sandstone jali work.
Here you can see how history's been deleted during 2002 Godhra riots, aftermath is really devastating, This place deserves a lot of attention from Gov of Gujarat which is not the case, as it is a monument loved by hatered community of gujarat
