It is a must see place for art and architecture lovers. It gives a high to be able to see paintings done 1500-2000 yrs back with such detailing and precision. Ajunta caves are very cool. You will need to take your shoes off for most caves so wear appropriate shoes. There is a market you go through to get to the bus that shuttles to the caves (20 rupees each) and they will wait for your return to try sell you things. The Ajanta Caves are over 20 centuries old. These rock-cut caves offer an incredible experience with beautiful paintings depicting stories from the Jataka tales and the Mahabharata. Well, it is just not any other caves. Ajanta is definitely a mesmerizing work of art. It takes and entire day to observe and experience the incredible feat. So you might think they're just holes carved in the basalt rock above a river, below a waterfall. Well think again! The Ajanta Caves are an incredible, inspiring and truly amazing link to a history of immense proportion. If you go there please don't just walk around on your own thinking whatever. Ajanta is a must for all the lovers of indian art,especially for the high quality of the paintings ,rare in iNdia. don't miss the Avalokiteshwara,the most beautiful detail of all indian art of all times

It was a great trip, it took nearly a day but was worth. I started from manmandir terminal a private bus stand where I book my trip of to and fro in a ac coach for just rs 300 per person , we started at 9.30 and reached by 11 ,,, the starting area have shopping stalls but don't wait... More

AJANTA is world's greatest historical monument recognised by UNESCO located just 55kms from Jalgaon city. All the caves are finest examples of Indian art.

We saw all of the complex in Ajanta and we were still amazed at the end, all the palce is mysticm magic and transmitc peace... at the same time it is balances with nature (birds, squirrels, monkeys, and so on), also there is a reastaurant really nearby where yo ucan but food and drinks, there is bathrooms avaliable... the worst...
